Central Sonoma Valley Trail
Central Sonoma Valley Trail – Trail/Pathway Design
Sonoma County, CA
This project provided civil engineering services for the design and permitting of 0.42 miles of Class I bike path between Larson Park and Flowery Elementary School and along Verano Avenue between Sonoma Creek and Main Street in the Springs Area of Sonoma County.
Improvements consisted of two segments of Class III bike trails, public roadway crossings, private driveway crossings, installation of a pre-manufactured bridge, grading and drainage improvements, site accessibility improvements, and public water.
Services included topographic surveying, preparation of easement descriptions, site improvement design, permitting, and construction administration.
During the design and development of the project, EBA provided civil engineering services for an adjacent project which included an additional 0.23 miles of Class III bike trails through the Sonoma Springs Mixed-use Development. Close coordination was provided between the two projects to ensure a safe and complete route for pedestrians and cyclists in the area.
Improvements for this portion of the Central Sonoma Valley trail included a Class III bike trail, a raised crossing at Rancho Drive to slow traffic in the area, extensive retaining walls, grading and drainage improvements, and storm water management through Low Impact Design.
