Project Geologist or Project Civil Engineer
EBA Engineering (EBA) is a professional civil and environmental engineering firm with over 35 years of recognized expertise in solid waste design, closure and reporting; civil engineering design, planning and permitting; environmental due diligence, planning, permitting, soil and groundwater investigations and remediation; water supply permitting, assessments, studies, and research.
EBA is seeking a Project Geologist or Project Civil Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience who will help support environmental engineering and water projects. The position will include both office and field work . The prospective candidate should demonstrate an understanding of Phase 1 through Phase 3 environmental investigations and have knowledge of current soil and groundwater remedial treatment methodologies. Experience with managing personnel and budgets and knowledge of USTCF billing and projects is desired.
Responsibilities include, but aren't limited, to the following:
- Supervise staff in all aspects of environmental Phase 1 through Phase 3 investigations including the advancement of soil borings and installation of monitoring/remedial wells.
- Supervise staff in the installation of soil vapor probes and soil vapor sampling.
- Examine and describes soil samples and interpreting geologic and hydrogeologic conditions.
- Prepare work plans, reports detailing results of investigations, site conceptual models, and other technical reports.
- Prepare Health and Safety Plans given site specific criteria.
- Perform field investigations that include drilling, trenching, and excavation work.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of project specific work.
- Review plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications according to the contract documents.
- Prepare proposals independently for small and moderate scope projects.
- Mentor staff-level personnel.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or other related discipline (e.g., Earth Science, Geophysics, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Environmental Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Engineering, etc.)
- 3-5 years' experience in environmental assessment and remediation or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
- Ability to perform strenuous field work including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and follow stringent Health & Safety policies.
