EBA was the civil and surveying subconsultant to Glass Architects on a new fire station for the community of Union City, California.
The project area is approximately one acre in size and adjacent to a city park and residential development. EBA provided design services in 2006 through 2008 with construction occurring in 2009 to 2010.
EBA services included surveying, environmental review, permitting, civil design, Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) compliance for civil items, and coordination with public utility companies.
Site improvements that EBA assisted with included on-site and off-site access roads and parking, concrete pavement design for all on site paving, new utilities, grading and drainage systems, including stormwater treatment, erosion control provisions, and grading and utility provisions for a vehicle wash area.
The new 10,450 square-foot building included a drive-through apparatus bay, offices, dining room, restrooms with lockers, and dorm rooms.
EBA also provided coordination with the project architect and engineering subconsultants throughout the design and construction, and assistance during bidding and construction.
